How to Get a Library Card
Are you a first time visitor? We, at the Stewart County Public Library, welcome you! There are many services to explore and we can't wait to help you discover them. Whatever your age, we provide something for everyone, ranging from:
Family Story Times/Teen Events
Computer education for teens and adults
Learning a new language
Taking your Boater’s Exam and much, much more!
The first step in your journey is applying for your library card. All residents of Stewart County are eligible for your first library card at no cost. Here is a link to click for information and rules about borrowing items at the library:Policies
To apply for a library card, simply present your government issued photo I.D. with current address. If address is not current, you can show one of the following at the circulation desk with your photo I.D.. Cards are issued at the time of registration.:
Current piece of mail with your name and current address (Such as electric, water, phone, etc.).
Voter registration card with your name and current address on it.
Vehicle registration or vehicle insurance with current name and address.
Anyone who lives, works, or owns property in Stewart County is eligible for a card.
Children may also receive a card as long as a parent/guardian has a library card with us.
If you only need computer access, our public computers are available to use without library cards.

Lost, stolen, or damaged cards may be replaced for $2.00.
