HOW TO GET A LIBRARY CARD
If you're looking to get a library card from the Stewart County Public Library, the process is simple and welcoming for all Stewart County residents. As a first-time visitor, you'll be delighted to know that your initial library card comes at no cost.
To apply, bring along a government-issued photo ID that reflects your current address. If your ID doesn’t show your current address, you can present a current piece of mail, voter registration card, or vehicle registration/insurance with your name and address at the circulation desk. Eligibility extends to those who live, work, or own property in Stewart County. Youth under age 18 can also get a card if their parent or guardian has one. For those who only need computer access, public computers are available without necessitating a library card. Renewing Your Library Card
Library cards do expire, but they're easy to renew! Under our new system, cards expire every 2 years. To renew, just bring a current photo ID so we can verify your information is up to date. You must still be a Stewart County resident, property owner, or worker, and you'll keep your same card number — we simply update it on our end. If you'd like a brand new physical card instead, there's a $2.00 fee.
